Prof Adeyeye started at Obokun High School in 1963 but finished at Ilesa Grammar School in 1967. The two schools were merged in 1965. Prof. Adeyeye obtained Ph.D. from University of Georgia. He was a Professor of Biology at Duquesne University, USA. Prof. Adeyeye went into politics and became the Chairman of Ifedayo local government, Osun State. After, he won an election into the Federal House of Representatives (then the only AD congress man from Osun State) in Nigeria. Prof Adeyeye is currently a member of the Federal Senate from Osun State. There, he is the Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education, the leader of the Osun State Caucus in the National Assembly, and he also serves as leader of the Senate Southwest Caucus, and the Vice Chairman of the Southern Senators Forum.

A close associate of Professor Wole Soyinka and also an academic, Prof. Sola Adeyeye, recalls: “I started preserving my beards at the age of 17. I had been keeping it before I became a lecturer.”

Rachel Klemens at Duquesne University, who graduated with her bachelor’s degree in biology, worked with Dr. Olushola Adeyeye, assisting with the protein analysis of cornear worm throughout her sophomore and junior year. She said "Dr. Adeyeye was my most influential role model at Duquesne,” Rachel remarked. “By working under his guidance, not only did I learn research techniques, but I was also able to enhance my writing and presentation skills. He really motivated me and helped me to start my career.
