 Late Philip Umeadi was a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and the running mate to Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the 1979 presidential election under the umbrella of Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN). During the trial of Ken Saro-Wiwa, an Igbo, Chief Philip Umeadi, was the lead prosecutor. His son is the Hon. INEC National Commissioner Barr. Philip Umeadi, Jnr.
