RECEPTION FOR MR. JONATHAN BABATUNDE MAJIYAGBE, SAN.

The immediate past President of Rotary International is Mr. J. B. Majiyagbe, an old student of Ilesa Grammar School and by definition a member of Ilesa Grammar School Old Students Association.

Rotary International is universally known for pursuance of truth, social justice and support for the under-priviledged and the helpless.  For the year 2000/2004.  Mr. J. B. Majiyagbe who passed out of Ilesa Grammar School in December, 1953 attained the singular honour of being the first African from the Continent of Africa to be elected as the President of Rotary International.  In addition Mr. J. B. Majiyagbe has always been a pride to Ilesa Grammar School.  He is a very distinguished legal practitioner and a man of excellent character who devote his robust intellectual and material resources to the service of humanity.

In appreciation of the honour to the school and his immense contribution to humanity, Ilesa Grammar School Old Students Association decided to honour him on Saturday, November 27, 2004 through a reception scheduled to take place at Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Ikeja, Lagos.  To enhance and endure the occasion, the association has decided to launch an endowment for the school - an endowment to which members of the association and their friends and well wishers would be requested to make generous contribution.

To enhance the initial take off, Old Students are enjoined to participate and severally contribute a minimum of #10,000.00 (Ten thousand naira only) per head towards the organization of the reception.  Such payments/donations should be made by cheque payable to ‘ILEGRAMS RECEPTION COMMITTEE’ and should reach any of the following members of the organizing committee on or before October 15, 2004.
